For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:39
Olevander's job is to heal from surgery and grow. He is doing his job very well! We are so pleased and thankful to the Lord.
Our goal is to get him to eat more from his bottle than through the feeding tube. But a bigger goal than that is to get him to nurse so we can forgo the pumping and the tube feeding altogether. He actually has a decent suck. He only tires faster and will fall asleep halfway through it. Maybe the week of waiting for his surgery gave him plenty of workout with the pacifier so he was able to go right back to that after recovery. I am so encouraged when I see him - awake or asleep - doing the trick of suck, swallow, breath which sounds so simple yet can be difficult and tiring. I am hoping that with the daily training of breastfeeding he might take to it eventually.
Yesterday, the ladies from our church started bringing us dinner over. What a wonderful service! Every afternoon we are getting a phone call from one of them announcing their arrival with some type of casserole or soup, accompanying salads, vegetables, homemade bread, desserts ... - I cannot begin to tell you how nice it is - after you've just been through the time consuming feeding procedure with Olevander so many times, done the pumping, taken care of your other children's and family needs - after all that not to have to worry about what's for dinner. We have come to love and appreciate this caring service every time after the delivery of our children but now with less time to go around than ever it seems especially needed.
Thank you so much, Ladies of Community Bible Church Cumming!
And while we are talking about ready made meals: There is a whole freezer in our garage filled with frozen meals made by the wonderful ladies of our local API (Attachment Parenting International) group. Instead of throwing a Baby Shower with the common baby presents for us they decided to give us one with frozen meals. So back in June when Olevander was still growing happily in my womb not having a clue of what is to come we were storing all these meals that were lovingly prepared for us. So far they haven't been touched but I think I am going to have to rely on them when my wonderful helping hand Sister-in-law Joy has to leave and go back to work in Aug.
Thank you so much, Ladies of API North Fulton!

Vielen Dank an alle Koechinnen!
