Miriam for her birthday - Miriam zum Geburtstag

But for me it is good to be near God; I have made the Lord God my refuge, that I may tell of all your works.
Psalm 73:28

Our Miriam had her birthday - she turned 11 years old. Happy birthday, my love!
This past year has been an eventful one for her, rich in interesting experiences. The pictures show the bandwidth of her interests and - for all those who doubt - all the possibilities that a homeschooler like she has.
We are thankful for this past year!

Christmas in Germany. Having just arrived in the new place,  Miriam courageously takes part in the local nativity. She gets the role of Mary.

Miriam is growing up! This past summer she was invited to her very first summer camp. It was exhausting but she loved every bit of it!

One intense week of training in flight simulation and science at the airforce base. Probably not the first thing that Miriam, being more artistically minded, would have chosen but she gives it a try. It means rising early in the morning, uninterrupted time with her Papa, who does the majority of the driving, and making new friends. On base, the tone is rather snappy like in the military, she only goes by her call sign, but she learns a lot.

Her class sets a new record in the final test: 60% make a perfect score, among them Miriam. All the kids in that class are homeschoolers.

Happy New Year! - Ein Gutes Neues Jahr!

For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:26-28

These last couple of weeks have been eventful. We went on a big journey. We visited family and friends in Germany and even got to meet the newest family member.
With God's help the New Year has started well for us and we got back home safely.

Galater 3:26-28

Ereignisreiche Wochen liegen hinter uns.

Our family in front of the beautiful silhouette of Jena. On our walk with my friend Jana I am reminded of my college days when you would run into friends all the time. Thanks for the great shot, Jana!

While traveling, Miriam learnt the difference between a public and a private mailbox.  You can't leave your outgoing letters for the postman in German private mailboxes as you can in this country for the simple reason as they are locked with a key.

Welcome, little Sophia!

The castle Leuchtenburg! We used to see it from afar but today we just hiked up to it. And now we'll have happy birthday memories - what a great idea for this outing, Ragnar!
