With man this is impossible, but with God
all things are possible.
Matt. 19:26
On Monday night, Richard’s oldest sister Elise was hit by a
truck in her car. She has gone immediately into surgery for a traumatic severe
brain injury. The doctors don't know if she will survive.
Richard
on Tue: Elise is now in ICU. She is sedated and unconscious. Her
response is not as good as the doctors would like. The doctors are
stressing how important it is that the swelling go down within the next 24-48
hours. They are trying to get her vitals where they would like them to be
and also get her blood sugar under control. She is under strict care to see
that she has quiet and rest. The family is not allowed into ICU, but may
watch her on video.
Richard on Wed: Swelling is still the major problem, and
after several CT scans and further analysis by the doctors, they are telling us
that the injuries to her brain are more extensive than they had
anticipated. All in all, after 48 hours
of a brain injury, lack of progress apparently becomes as much as a negative to
the outlook and outcomes as the severity of the initial trauma. We are making plans to join our family very
soon.
Please continue to pray for Elise
and our family, because it appears more and more like it is becoming a
situation where only the Great Physician can help us.
For those that don't know her I have quickly searched for and chosen a few pictures of her.
We will join the family very soon. We might have to make hard decisions.
allein Gott helfen.
