Today in the city of David a Savior has been born to you; He is the Messiah, the Lord.
Luke 2:11
Lukas 2, 11

Among all the Christmas ornaments and decorations that I own this transparent is one of the most precious to me. With just the light of one candle it can light up the bleakest room and convey hope. It folds flat and takes up hardly any room. I have wonderful childhood memories connected with it. It was made by my mother. This particular one I recreated because the original - being made just out of paper - did not survive one Christmas. (Fortunately, a photo existed that I could use as a template.)
If I had to choose and could pick only one item out of all the Christmas decorations I would decide on this one. It shows the simplicity of that night in the stable: The shining star, Mary and Joseph, the manger with the Christ child, and on either side just a shepherd. Does it matter whether there was a donkey, or cows, or other animals? What did the stable look like, or was it a cave?
Who knows?
Just people. People matter. Baby Jesus at the very center. And the brightly lit star above.
Hope for the world.
A very Merry Christmas to all of you! God bless you.
Wer weiss?
Menschen. Menschen zaehlen. Das Jesuskind in der Mitte. Und der hell leuchtende Stern ueber allem.
Hoffnung fuer die Welt.
Eine frohe Weihnacht euch allen! Und Gottes Segen.
